Day 24 : Batumi to Ureki

Batumi is a city full of contrasts. A bit Dubai, a bit Las Vegas (it's nickname is "Las Vegas of the Black Sea"), a renovated historic centre, beach, green,... Faded sowjet glory More faded glory Subtropical green in the botanical garden The sfeer was quite different compared to the Turkish cities of Kayseri or Konya. On the promenade along the beach people were jogging, guys showed their trained bodies, women wear shorts. That is, I have to admit, a relief. Not caring what I'm wearing felt liberating. The traffic I mentioned yesterday fascinated me even more today. Traffic signs and traffic lights are an indication of what drivers could do. In reality, most drivers just drive into a junction and try to zigzag between other cars, who did the same, to get to where they want. This leads to major traffic jams before a 'normal' junction.
