Day 16 : Yaprakhisar to somewhere nearby Özlüce

I skipt the fries which came with the otherwise traditional breakfast.

Quite a lot of the route today was off-road. That brought me to some nice places.

Some lake, ideal to rest... also for the herder, the sheep and goats.

Great views with snowy peaks in the background.
Another crater, ideal for lunch. This one does still have water.

Strange minarets.

Somewhere I missed the right path and ended up by a dwelling site where I wasn't allowed to pass. The security guy gave me water and an apple and a "Where are you from?" Almanya. And a minute later I talked to a German engineer living in Turkey. They were drilling down to 3000 m for geothermal heat in order to produce electricity.

The pace was lower today. Due to off-road, saving my knee and because I wanted to camp wild today. They advice to pitch the tent when it's getting dark. But for my rhythm that's really late. I usually don't spent the whole day on my bike.

Typically, during the first half of the day I saw awesome spots to pitch a tent...with trees, along small rivers. And then the landscape changed and it became bare. No trees, a lot of agriculture. Hard to hide somewhere. I had a village in mind where I could eat and afterwards look for a good spot. Well, there was no food in that village except a grocery store (their main choice being cookies and other sweets). And I didn't like the village. So I went on with my Aiki noodles which I got earlier the day... desperately searching for some trees. Finally I found a spot where I felt safe.

With Aiki noodles and a coffee I relaxed myself, ready for a good sleep :-).
